Monthly Mini-Goal

With the support of my new teammates, the Wildcats, I have met my mini-goal for the month of May, and have now set a new one for the month of June.  I had been concerned that I might not hit my goal for the month, but the encouragement of my teammates (and others who have supported me on this site)made all of the difference in keeping me active!  It really does help to have the extra support and the knowledge that your team members count on you to do your part to help the whole group be successful!  Thank you to everyone on the Wildcats team as well as everyone on this site for your positive comments, encouragement and comradarie!  By sharing your ups and downs through all of your blogs I realize daily that I’m not alone and we all experience the same highs and lows throughout the weight loss journey.  You all are GREAT!

Discouraged

Hi everyone!  I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.  I wrote last Wednesday that I only had two more pounds to lose this month to meet my monthly mini-goal.  I was really motivated and have done well since then with staying on my eating plan.  However, I got on the scales this morning and I was up a pound, so I now have three pounds to lose to meet my monthly goal and only a few days left to do it in.  I’m very discouraged.  I know our weights fluctuate, but it sure is discouraging when I know I’ve stayed on plan and I’ve gone up instead of down.  Oh well….just needed to get this written down…thought it might make me feel a little better to get it out.  I read often on this site of this happening to others, but I really thought it would be so easy to get those two pounds off by the end of the month, and now it doesn’t seem likely.  I’m still going to give it my best shot and who knows?  Maybe I will be able to make it.  Wishing all of you the best on your weight loss journeys!  You all are great!   Molly

Monthly Goal

I’m happy to report that I’m only two pounds away from my goal for May!  With eight days left in the month, I’m hoping I can get there!  I have found it very helpful to set a mini-goal each month–it seems to make me work harder as I don’t have to constantly look at and think about the the long journey I have ahead of me.  I just concentrate on the current month and then at the end of the month I set a new, reasonable goal for the next month.  I also want to again thank everyone who blogs on a regular basis–I read all of them and they do help me immensely as well.  It can be difficult to “put yourself out there” for everyone to see, and I’m going to continue to work on becoming more comfortable with doing that.  I really want to be more a part of this support community.  Good luck to all of you on your journeys.  We can all do this!    Molly

Graduation

Hi Everyone,  I just wanted to let you all know that I made it through my daughter’s graduation and associated celebrations with faltering too much.  I did eat one meal out and ate a little bit more than normal, but still stayed within an acceptable range of calories for the day.  Graduation day itself was fantastic.  The weather was beautiful and it was great to spend it with family.  My daughter graduated college in three years with a double major and straight A’s.  I couldn’t be more proud of her.  She works so hard.  She will be entering law school in the Fall.  I uploaded a couple of pics of her so you can see how beautiful she is (I’m a little bit biased).  As for my weight loss, I seem to have hit a little bit of a plateau.  I have let up on exercising quite a bit recdently due to it being budget time for me in my job and this requires me to work pretty much around the clock for several weeks.  I want to thank everyone for blogging–I read most all of them every day, and it really does help keep me motivated.  I have lost 43 pounds so far, but still have 65-70 pounds to go to look and feel “normal” again!  Wishing all of you success on your weight loss journeys!    Molly
